i usually dig their cover art but this one looks like a journey album to me lol
i like wreckage a decent bit but this is mostly just okay so far imo. ill admit that harder rockin pearl jam has never really been my preferred shade of the band though so this isn't really leaning into what i like about them. eddie sounds great though
cool seeing new adventures in hi-fi in the rec'd albums bc i'm kinda hearing that too lol

i don't see myself coming back to it a ton but this is pretty solid. think it picked up a good bit after the opening run. i am glad that eddie remembered how to write good melodies again
got to give is incredible. def my early highlight here

I miss that groovy hard hitting rock they used to have like in Animal, it sounds like this album wants to go in that direction but they just didn't agree on some shit idk

album art looks like it could be a Dragonforce album

‘Waiting for Stevie’ is the emotional peak here, reminds me a lot of Stone Temple Pilots at their best melodically which is funny to reach a point you can say that considering STP were originally PJ copyists
Anyway, that one really sounds like a great lost B-Side from the ‘90s

Officially sixth best PJ for me now, isn’t as musty and patchy as Binaural and Riot Act, nor as by numbers as Avocado, and is more consistent than Backspacer (in some ways this is what they attempted on Backspacer done a lot more convincingly).
Behind ‘Yield’ just for being a few tunes lighter, not much in that.

yeah i think 6th is about where im at too. a better backspacer is on the money
i hit binaural again after my first jam of this and that album was cool like 60% of the time but boy does that bih have some filler. all i really need now are the super atmo space-y jams off that

Only song from Binaural I come back to on a regular basis is Light Years tbh, what a song

Binaural you have Light Years, Nothing as it Seems and Insignificance as the only major highlights
Riot Act is Can’t Keep, I Am Mine and I always liked Green Disease
Backspacer is Got Some, The Fixer and the cheesy/overplayed but sometimes enjoyable Just Breathe
I’d say over half this material is that sort of level

I will revisit Gigaton today I guess…I didn’t hate that one but want to compare

Nice picks, for me Riot Act is really solid and I much prefer it to Binaural, Backspacer and the last two. Need to revisit the S/T.
Lightning Bolt is really the bands only 'bad' album imo.

The only song on this album that really caught my attention was Waiting for Stevie. Everything else was pretty forgettable for me.

i could never get into riot act. that and avocado are 2.5 tier for me. the other three afterwards are like, a hair better but still pretty unremarkable imo. gigaton's lead single was pretty sick and then the rest of album sounded nothing like it and dropped the ball
makes this a nice surprise lol

'The only song on this album that really caught my attention was Waiting for Stevie. Everything else was pretty forgettable for me.'
Waiting for Stevie is probably the best one yeah, but I think this is reasonably consistent, two slightly lesser second half songs bring the album down a bit

'i could never get into riot act.'
there's a decent'ish eight song album there, the opener and closer are two of their best latter career songs, then Save You, Green Disease, Love Boat Capt and I Am Mine are solid enough, maybe round it out with You Are and Thumbing My Way or if not 1/2 Full.
has a lot of total duffers to navigate as a full album.

ill trim it down to that and give it another go

Nice, hope it works better like that at least
Tried Gigaton again…this is a lot better. Surprised me just how much better, at least half of Giga is quite the snooze.

Yeah Gigaton was pretty boring. Dance of the Clairvoyants is a banger though.
