Yeah their new albums are way more poppy. Still some of the prog metal is there, but they are just more catchy and embraced the oriental style a lot more. I think it's an improved, they really do their own thing now

I'm also surprised at how insanely little ratings they have here on Sputnik. Seems they are so much lesser known than they should be. Towards your point however, I am always surprised how little European bands are influenced by oriental stuff. I think it always sounds awesome but most bands just have one song in the 'oriental metal' style and then never come back to it

I remember hearing stuff from Hope and Tales of the Sands and liking it but never quite getting hooked.

It's a lot of fun overall but I can't help but be disappointed that the prog metal elements are getting more and more diluted with each release. No song on this is even as good as You've Lost Yourself imo. It's more consistent than Shehili though I'll give it that.



My favorite track is probably Child of Prophecy. Damn good song.

That's fair, I thought the tracks to be way more engaging here than on Shehili, although I do like prog a lot myself too

Also didn't notice how good the drumming was here actually, he is very close to overplaying it but it fits perfectly tbh. So many interesting fills and random hits going on.
