I’m a big fan of this guy actually. I’ve jammed all 4 records now and he’s consistently great but doesn’t just copy himself either. It’s a variation on blackened metal that is pretty unique, too.

No prog in the other albums, but yeah still mathy-blacky-tech-thrashy chaos

damn this dude just follows his whims and goes for it. much respect for that, production is kinda wack though and a lil too proggy for me. gunna have to try this at the gym

I would still listen to this rather than anything from Svalbard.

For me the use of sax is a strongpoint of the album, really like the diverse use of it and the colour it provides!
IMO this has a few somehow random sounding parts. Paired with the rather sterile sound that puts it into a dangerous vicinity of Relentless Doppelganger...

Sax needed to hang out and jam more instead of being a coward and dipping out as soon as it showed up

Would not argue with more sax.

This is weirdly digestible considering the content. I’m not seeing muuuuuuch of an issue with the production as I think it compliments the sound he’s going for. Heard a lot worse brick-wall jobs or a general lack of dynamics elsewhere. The sax is a great way of alleviating that to some degree, as I like the way it sounds eerie and atmospheric to counteract the heaviness. I can understand yearning for more segments of that ilk
