I don't 'discog dunk' metal very often, but literally any band can get one chance. My ratings on this site are sort of impossible to use (my joke) but my metal taste is pretty well defined on RYM.

If you prefer more sludgy/post-type -core, maybe Great Falls is more your speed. Band's entirely made up of dudes that came up through the 90s scene.

ive honestly never listened to them because they seem a bit lame and i associate them with slipknot fans

The first Hatebreed is closer to Biohazard and NY hardcore than Slipknot, even sounds like early '90s Sepultura (who also had a hardcore influence anyway) in places...but after that they add more 'with the times' metal tropes with mixed success

doofs educating me on hardcore, i dont know how to feel about this

The big takeaway was I did expect them to be a lot worse than they actually ended up being but started at a 3.5 and then went down to more 2.5 quality by the end of their discog.



I tend to do whole metal discogs over a couple of weeks down the gym, I'm working through Prong right now which is going ok.

i stopped doing discogs a few years ago, like to stretch things out now (i did whole discog runs of unwound and fugazi at one point, wish i didnt because i just got burnt out on them so quick)

Obviously a lot of metal I listen to I can't play down the gym as imo it doesn't match up really (most black metal, sludge metal, some death metal isn't right) but always looking for the sort of stuff that does
