as a fellow connoisseur of Sunday morning music, this has piqued my interest Trif. I've heard of 'ol Bill here, so I think he must be important.
Curious and intriguing decision to review this relatively unknown (presumed) gem over some of his more famous works, but I would imagine it's your fave of his? - really had to dig through RYM to find it

Haha, yeah, it apparently is a bit of a hidden gem among his many (many!) well-loved albums.
To me this three volume package is indeed my fave of his whole discog. These disks are very extensive, they cover so many of his own best tunes and of other amazing jazz standards, they're wonderfully recorded, and this trio is just so tight and lovely, with undeniable chemistry between them.
So I thought: why not!!
Perfect (Sunday morning) music indeed! And Bill is absolutely important, an essential jazz hero if you ask me. But you'll need to wait for the Vol 3 review to find out why... Next up is the wonderful and lovely Gomez.

Oh my, perhaps Re : Person I Knew is all you need to know about how perfect awesome awesome this one is.
Silly to say an 8+ minute track covers what a 3h album is about, but it might be true. Simply gorgeous stuff.

OK so it is a bit weird that in a couple of days (weeks?) these three Vols will have reviews, yet BOTH Village Vanguard AND Waltz for Debby do NOT have reviews here. How is that even possible!??!?!?!?!

Fantastic review Trif! Been on a massive jazz binge lately, so I'll check this out as soon as I can :]

Yipppeeeeeee Marc! Eventually there will be many more (I hope!), although after my Vol 3 one I need a break I fear.
Still. How is it even possible that both (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Waltz for Debby AND Sunday at the Village Vanguard are review-less!??!!
Oh I see I said the same thing here already. Still weird.

I didn't listen to this, but I did check 'You Must Believe In Spring' and it is very lovely indeed

Rich Evans is very ultra Trif approved though 💚
But not better than Bill. They're apples and oranges.
