Veldin I don't think so. It feels like extreme metal has been planting these seeds for several years hinting and striving towards something more cinematic and unreal forms now bearing rich fruit. We've gone from hit songs to "album-albums", borrowed concept-albums from prog, adapted post-rock into linear crescendos, singular unitary works, stretched black and dissonance to nihilistic annihilation and now we've gone off the map completely into the abyss, venturing out the other side of dark universe wormhole. This is a year of plenty where exploration reaps harvest and splendor

Album is the tits, love the switch-ups to heavy metal-esque parts. The bass in Neon Leviathan really wets my whistle. I fell off with this a tiny bit, but might bump back to a 4.5
