that's a good pull yeah, technicality sweet spot. just hit me the reason I love this so much is very similar to why that Slugdge - Esoteric Malacology blew up so hard. just super catchy hooks in a tight prog package.
lyrics are nothing profound but there is some strong musical story telling that lines up with em on here. The Ravaging Ones ending is so fun
Tear him limb
FROM limb
from LIMB
FROM limb
make him free from sin
TEAR HIM LIMB FROM LIMB

This is just a bit too redundant for me. It's definitely good but just missing something.

Yes I'm afraid this is a chug and breakdown free zone. idk where you're getting repetitive there's like 3 different vocal styles, there's barely any pedal note meandering the songs just arc like rockets nonstop.
c'mon sput I know the rest of you know how to read Hawks rates ;)
really though this thing has got me picking my own guitar up again, the harmonic minor melodies are so evocatively phrased without being noodly wank. the way they resolve is satisfying and varied with different musical story telling matched lyrically.

thing still hits like a monster for me. air guitaring like crazy by track 2 and there's just no way I'm not listening to the whole thing. didn't give enough credit to the drummer on this as I just don't have a good descriptive ear for it but he adds so much
