Tbh going in blind after only really spinning their debut once, the opener had me afraid i was in for a Frontierer-style pivot into loud-as-fuck sensory overload. It's the softer, melodic touches I'm loving most here. "Why Becomes How" is 10/10 gazey goodness. Little surprised at the muted reception for the softer moments - those are 90% of why this is a 4.5 for me.

same reason a bloodsoaked symphony's my least fav off kin and brimstone's bottom on the valley. "pure heavy" usually doesn't do it for me as well as other more varied feelings.

God damn this is fantastic, the heavy sections are absolutely ferocious and the dreamier sections are all very memorable.

This is pretty cool so far. Makes my air pods feel like they need anchor arms. Nice improvement from their last album.

@Venin I'm surprised you rated The Ladder so low given what you said about the more melodic sections, the chorus on that song is one of my personal favourite moments on the album.
