Now that people are hearing the EP for the first time, here's my song ranking:

(1) "Hiding in the Light" - 5/5 - Honestly this is just the *chef's kiss* of Yellowcard songs. It's got everything. Great lyrics and pacing, super memorable guitar solo, strong outro, prominent violins, uplifting message, unrelenting upbeat tempo...this could have been on Southern Air (IMO the best YC album) and still been a standout track.

(2) "Honest From The Jump - 5/5 - This is such a big anthem. The chorus is instantly memorable and sounds larger than life. I love the little nod to "Gifts and Curses" in the bridge. The lyrics are out of this world too, and I love how it feels like an urgent call to live life to its fullest.

(3) "Childhood Eyes" - 4.3/5 - Immensely catchy. Warm & vibrant, almost feels like an updated take on 'Always Summer' during the "I am the love you need" portion of the outro. Maybe should have thrown a bigger instrumental crescendo in there but I'll live.

(4) "The Places We'll Go" - 3.8/5 - Very heart-on-sleeve ballad that seems very well-suited for Ryan's acoustic songwriting style. The Dashboard Confessional feature adds an important emotional swell to the ending. Maybe could have used a little wrinkle somewhere because it's a very straightforward acoustic ballad, but hey, it's all very well-done so I'm not complaining.

(5) "Three Minutes More" - 3.5/5 - A cool gates-crasher of an opening track. Very uptempo and the drumming is excellent. Doesn't always feel like a YC song, almost leans a little too much into a post-hardcore style, but they're trying something different and a little more aggressive and that's cool.

Honestly didn’t like hiding in the light much other than the solos. Maybe it will grow but I thought the chorus was weak

Which one was your favorite? Honest From The Jump was mine initially (and still might be). Hiding in the Light did grow on me, but I also liked it right off the bat.

yeah honest/hiding are def my favs as well, just classic yc stuff. not convinced by the vic fuentes feature on the opener but it's not bad, mostly just unnecessary

I do think Carrabba adds more to his song than Fuentes does to his

The drumming on the opener is pretty damn great though, that makes the song for me

It makes perfect sense. It's my least favorite here but I still enjoy listening to it.

I'll gladly admit that I'm emotionally relating to the places we'll go due to the erm eventful month I'm about to have with my long time girlfriend. 😄

Emotionally relating to music is the whole point. No shame in admitting it!

My favorite part of The Places We'll Go is when Carrabba wails "ways that I've grown" towards the end as sort of an echo to Key's line. Just hits different for some reason.

Nice. I haven't seen anyone lose their shit over that song yet (outside of the YC discord), so it's nice to have someone here repping it. I like the song but it's probably ranked #5 here out of 5 songs lol.

Have you heard any Yellowcard before? Ocean Avenue at least?

Glad to see more people coming around after all this time and checking them out.
