The first thing that I thought of
When I heard that you had killed yourself
Was how stupid I'm about to look
With my foot inside of my mouth

That's pretty dark
and slightly humorous
and a little self centered
Interesting

That song is the most beautiful thing on here, but fuck is it hard to listen to. RIP Sean Kennedy.

Depression is evil and I've noticed suicide, anxiety and depression are a huge deal in Australia. Shame cause Aussies are such cool people.

Not a psychiatrist, nor very smart, but I reckon the reputation of the Australian male plays a part in this. When you're not feeling so cool it's a drastic departure from the status quo of your mates and society's expectations. This exacerbates the common depression feelings of isolation, that you're broken, unworthy etc. I know this is a fairly general theme worldwide with depression, but especially relevant in Australia's blokey culture.

Exactly how it is here in America man. World is just in a rough place right now all around.

As for the album, definitely a pleasant surprise. American Dream was obviously disappointing, but I felt that almost every song had a single hook, riff or bridge that made it worth listening to every now and then and showed there was still promise. Good to see they've fleshed those ideas out a lot more here and retreated on the not-so-good ones. John's delivery on the R&B-lite sections does annoy me, but it's made up for with the return of his emotive style.

Sean was good. I got halfway through the album yesterday and am revisiting again in full right now. Big improvement over their last one.

Sean is one of the best songs these guys ever put out, but damn I have to skip it often cause it’s a lot to digest on a full album spin. Should’ve definitely been the closer.

Sean is the closer of side A, so hearing this on vinyl and the silence after the song ends just made me stare at the ceiling for like 5 minutes.
Agreed with bubs this is a great album start to finish except for that song. Definitely could have cut that one, but OMW really grew on me lol shit is a ton of fun
