Idk people seem pretty hung up on the 57th King Gizzard album and Thy Catafalque(sp?) could be a sleeper

all King Gizz albums most be voted down at any cost. I'm halfway through the new Thy Catafalque atm and while it ain't bad, i don't see it finding an audience outside riff-addled avant-petrolheads (which granted is half the site, but)

Kostnateni might have had a shot if it were this month, but that final week of may release puts paid to that

not nearly as high on this as you guys are. doesn’t really feel like dnb most of the time. kind of reminds me of SoundCloud style trapified electronic stuff that makes the rounds on social media.

not bad but not really a standout either. solid 3 if I were gonna rate.

appeal of this is much more catatonic than straight-up dnb yeah. production + vocal features are well above average for electronic dreamgaze though, so it washes

Yeah the production, vocals, and choice of tone really excels this above normal soundcloud popular music.

oh yeah I only meant that as a comparison. the sub bass kicks and hi hats just sound more “trapified” (I can’t really think of a better way to describe it) than what I usually hear in dnb.

I will check daine and see what i think. there’s def lots to like here I just don’t think it 100% comes together.

main gripe with this is definitely that the first half ambient pop ft. breaks flirtations and second half dnb trip would have benefitted from more active dialogue with each other. curious to hear what this project's earlier stuff is like - guessing that it has more of a dnb focus and that the dreamgaze elements have been worked in since

The question is, is this better than Gary Wright’s Dreamweaver. I mean…. That’s a pretty high bar
