I genuinely think dark matter dimensions had way worse production than this, it sounded completely lifeless. the unseen empire on the other hand had those super unusual echoed drums which were also super weird. agreed tho that neohumanity was produced better than this

Just curious, how is everyone listening to the album? It sounds decent when I listen to it on my home Sony Bluetooth speaker, and ok with my Bose wireless ear buds, but it sounds like shit in my car. I have a pretty nice sound system in my car too. I had to increase the treble to the max and reduce the bass quite a bit just for it to sound tolerable. Overall, it sounds best when I listen to it using just the speakers on my iphone, which of course, is not the most desirable way to enjoy it.

let me just quickly express my amusement before someone else answers you earnestly because i havent listened to this album in full and the 3 songs ive heard were on fairly mediocre BT earbuds.

DMD was complete shit to begin with. Easily their worst album. This one on the other hand is easily their best sinds Holographic Universe.

I personally like DMD, but I agree that it's definitely their weakest album overall. In terms of production, I see what you mean by it being lifeless, but the mixing still sounds better to me. I can still hear a clear separation between all of the instruments and the vocals. Phase 2 just has this very compressed muddy feel to it IMO.

Maybe, since so many people hear it maybe there is something like that here. It's not detracting from my listening pleasure at the very least. All the songs on here are good, ironically Gridworm is still the only one I can't like too much, since it's all over the place and the vocal lines are rather weak
