The goblin cleans are more tastefully implemented here, thought Death Atlas was great but this is even better.

cool album, way better than their last one, not too much that's memorable but very solid and fun nonetheless

Better than Death Atlas means I'm gonna love this. Hype is off the charts

My face is the same as the critter on the art at how bland this sounds.

Spot on Notrap.

The track that's got me interested is Scourge of the Offspring

One of the best for sure. I really love the sequence from We Eat Our Young to The Storm Upstairs.

Starts off a hell of a lot stronger than Death Atlas. But they always seem to frontload their albums with the best songs and then it quickly tapers out before the end.

First half is definitely stronger, there's no real duds but I'm pretty exhausted come the end of the record.

It's a tad long for a brutal DM album as well

I think you misstepped quite a bit in your intro. It reads very corny to do this whole song and dance of "I care a lot about the impending destruction of the planet but in a moderate way, not one of those radicals", especially when the band you're talking about is CD, who are literally as extremist as it gets as far as their lyrics go. I'm not sure who the audience is for that bit, just extreme conservatives who have an unhealthy fixation on the Thunberg girl? Not sure you're getting a lot of those here.

Once you get to the music itself you're fine though, as usual. Somewhat optimistic about this one, the last single was pretty great even though I've been bored by CD in recent years.

Sometimes I start at the middle and work my way forward to avoid fatigue from overshadowing the quality of the later songs. I do this each time I review an album.

Scourge, Insignificants, and Storm Upstairs definitely best portion of the record. The final 3 tracks before the closer are pretty solid as a group too though.

That's how I am with most DM albums. I get ear fatigue real quick. I think CD's heavy reliance on melodic choruses makes their stuff a tiny bit more digestible though.

I think Knoll and Infernal Coil are more my speed for deathgrind because this just sounds pretty good and a lil overpolished
