Return to form. Watchers of Rule remains king though.

"I hate the production"
Yeah seriously those drums sound awful
|
| |
For real. Sounds like ass in the car, sounds like ass from a speaker, sounds like ass with headphones. It's a damn shame, because these songs are clearly a step up from Extinctions.
Will Putney must answer for his crimes.

Is the issue that the drums are too high in the mix? I don’t hear the issue… but now I’m searching.
|

I too hate the production. Too much low end overall.
Drum sound is basically the same as newest fit for an autopsy album (will putney, makes sense) and I was not into it then either. The kick sounds like computerized trash is my main gripe.

I agree. Lower the kick drum and bass in the mix, add a bit more treble/mid range to overall sound and this thing is perfect.

yea that's my biggest complaint with the last two release is that his vocals just sound different and i don't really know what it is, but i don't like it as much. guess it is just age.

he sounded phenomenal live, Unearth is definitely the highlight of the Halo Effect tour

yeah Trevor is the weakest link here unfortunately. otherwise this is leaps and bounds better than Extinction(s). some of the guitar leads remind me of The Oncoming Storm era.

This isn't as good as Watchers of Rule but damn this still rips. I'm honestly surprised by the low avg for this album. Was expecting at least around 3.7-3.8 not that it really matters, just observing

This is pretty much on par with In the Eyes of Fire for me

Into The Abyss bangs so hard.

This is up there with the best stuff they put out imho
I love how instantly recognizable Buz McGrath is as a player
There's something about that interplay he has going on between the shreds, the extremely melodic leads and the outright lowbrow breakdowns that just works

checking these guys out Oct 7th in Tampa.....seen em about 15 years ago in NY and they fucking destroyed

Really don’t like the production on this album. Could be a lot stronger if they went a different direction. Mother betrayal is the shit though.
