@Johnny, see page 1 for my reply to you, eccentric lad

@Sowing, much love!!! your support since day 1 has meant more than you likely realize. and I had no idea the band posted anything like this recently

"I clicked on it thinking it was a Sowing write up as well"

LMAO

@Sunny, cheers man! figured most people would make that assumption ;)

@Pika, why are you posting lyrics from an inferior album

@BitterJalapenoJr: nice!!! yeah it's weird in a sense that it's definitely nostalgic but just tends to grow on you more and more. there's somethings special here that takes time to appreciate.. used to think of it as just another YC album

Might bump this. Forgot how good the riff in Cut Me, Mick is. Totally fell away from Yellowcard after this album.

One of the best things about the YC resurgence this week is that it's gotten me to play Bombers a lot more and realize how PW would be a 5 with it in place of Dear Bobbie.

@pizza, attaboy ;)

and yeah, Bombers is a jam! I actually didn't hear that one until a few years after this album came out since I just had the regular version on CD and hadn't quite given into the whole streaming thing yet

If you buy 1 CD a month or more then Spotify is worth it. I caved last year.

Although be warned that Bombers isn't on Spotify and neither are a bunch of other YC hidden gems >=(

it's impressive that you didn't cave until last year lol

I actually have Apple Music and the version on there has Bombers as well as live acoustic versions of Gifts and Curses + How I Go. Sometimes it's the other way around tho and I'll often sneak over to the free version of Spotify for certain albums/songs

Oh yeah, I've been using free Spotify for ages but eventually I got sick of the ads. My thing for years was to do that and buy CDs of the artists I really loved and/or wanted to support.

Now I have a Spotify subscription (and no soul)

Great review! I don’t agree with the 1 or 5 dichotomy but agree that ratings should be about personal feelings/passion instead of some appeal to objectivity

I rated this album in 2013 and probably only listened to it once. It’s all I want to listen to right now. The bridge of Light Up the Sky is my favorite moment - I think Key’s vocal choices and lyrics are so good there

appreciate you taking the time to read it!!

re: the 1 or 5 dichotomy: I'd say I agree with it 60% of the time, every time

and heck yes loving that 4.5 and glad I'm not the only one who thinks this has aged incredibly well. pretty sure I had this closer to a 3.5 or so ten years ago so can definitely relate to that. agreed on the vocals and lyrics but there's also something about the production and instrumentation that hits home for me here as well
