Albeit a bit standart, prod, vocals and tightness are top notch. Will try again but I'm not seing it grow more with listens. Def Draconian mixed with Swallow the Sun vibes. Its perhaphs too perfect at times lol.

Hell yeah this is fire, 90's death/gothic/doom adjusted to the current times, chuggy riffs upon power riffs.

I somehow managed to gloss over the fact this was melodeath upon reading the initial review. Pretty major oversight on my part.
Although it’s likely decent for the style, I didn’t really find this haunting or particularly beautiful beyond some surface-level prettiness. It’s not ominous / dark enough to counter what I find to be a very neutralising guitar / riffing style 99% of the time. Pleasant.

I think this would click more if I saw it live. A bit too conventionally melodic and almost cheesy at times and I don't tend to look for that in my dm. Not enough variation in the melodies (the pianos usually repeat themselves too much) either to keep my interest for these long ass songs that don't draw me in with quite as much brutality as I usually want from slow heavy music. I get the feeling of there being fat that needs trimming. I think the vocals hold it together a lot for me. Still a lot of really cool moments littered throughout.

Thanks for the review, a nice discovery here! Agree, a modern proggier/better version of Tales from Thousand Lakes.
