I remember your name from another music forum, lichtbringer. Exactly the same low effort trolling. That was years ago, too.

Good stuff. The Portished-ish section in the second track is probably my favorite moment.

Idk this band but it’s very Norwegian, in similar vein to Archurus, Shining and Solefald

Heard this is pretty good stuff so time to give it a good old crack

I ain't hearing any arcturus or shining in this

Okay this is too dense to try and absorb for a flat mood evening. What i heard was great but tough cookie to chew on all at once, going to take a few runs at it i think

First I've ever heard from these guys. Was really impressed with the overall sound and flow of the album. I'm hesitating to give it a 4.5 on first listen, but I'm damn sure not ready to damage the 4.2 average with a rating of 4, either.
Will remain unrated until I've listened a few more times.

Not ready to 4.5 it yet either. I struggle with some vocal bits that seem to be tryin to ruin some songs.
I handled them in previous releases, much like in bands like akercocke f.e., but sometimes this gets so spacey, smooth and classy, that the vocals (specifically the drunk melodic ones) get quite distracting. I hope that settles on my 3rd listen, cause this is musical excellence all around.

After a dozen or so listen I think I can say, this is the best album the band has dropped. A majestically composed, immensely dense but highly rewarding journey, a masterpiece of avant-garde metal, the evolution of their sound complete. Insane pull 30 or so years into their history.

Interstellar Nexus is about where I realized this was one of the best records of the decade.
The prog elements in that song are absolutely out of this world.

Listened to the first 2 tracks and they sound really awful. And when I say awful, I mean awful in a bad way you know... I will probably get back to it at some point later.

Astonishing how those twists, turns and all the different influences can blend together so well and flow so seamless.

Arcturus wouldn't be my choice either, but Shining... for example the third part of Tankespinnerens Smerte really reminded me to Halmstadt.
