Cool ranking. At least we all agree that Darkly’s dead last anyway

Now THAT is a ranking Shemson!! Nice one!
And nearly all of us (....Azog!) agree about their top records as well, good, good!

Cradle are so good that the albums I have in 12th and 13th place are still 3.5s and I would still jam them and enjoy them. Godspeed was solid with a sick concept and Thornography had some absolute bangers, just a few duds alongside

Yeah agreed, I really like all of their albums apart from Darkly. There's something about them!
Midnight Shadows is my fave Goodspeed track. Oh my, that one is lovely! What's yours?

what the heck went wrong on Darkly? Feel like it's a universally panned album but there's no obvious reason. Album art was cool

Yeah I don't know! It's missing all of their fire, it sounds like they don't even enjoy playing it themselves or something. It's the only time that happens too.

Lillith Immaculate was a cool track, but that's the only one off it I remember

Same. It was nice, maybe they should have made an EP at that moment.

Nun With The Astral Habit is a banger of a track title tho

Maybe I should... revisit it... I don't know. I've given it so many chances but there just is something wrong there.
Maybe if I feel like it today, I will revisit.

was considering doing that myself but on the other hand I think I overlooked it for a reason

Yes. Quite the extensive discog and everything else is better so there's no reason to ever revisit it actually hahaha. Poor Darkly. Maybe I should revisit Manticore since that one was very nice and it was so much better.

I think I only listened to that one like once and never came back to it. Which I think is the case for most people and this album, which is kind of sad. I've listened the shit out of this, it's so goddamn good. I think people are intimidated by it because it's so damn long and bombastic, there's a lot to digest

art. You know what? I actually pressed 'play' on Darkly. It's happening as we speak. Opener isn't as bad so far.
Damnation is suuuuuuuuper good agreed, love all of it.

I haven't jammed that one in like 12 years I think. I'd have to dig to find my copy. Let me know if you have any big revelations about it

I just remember all the songs blending together, no hooks, and tinkling piano soaking everything lol

Oh yeah, re the Manticore comment! It's lined up next, after Darkly. It's nicely punky if I remember and sees them explore some cool new elements.
I think my main issue with Darkly has come back to mind already. Individually these tracks aren't all that bad, it's just one huuuuuge slog when going through them all at once, in an album context.

yeah, it's too samey. Nymph had the melodic tracks and the thrashy tracks to break things up. Darkly is just kind of a hodgepodge from what I remember

Oh wow I think we posted the same thing at the same time, must be true then!
