I've thought about this for a while and idk if I can choose a favorite band of all time at this point. It's either shug or gorguts but probably just both

Favorite band? I dunno man, for me it's either Meshuggah or Meshuggah but depending on the day it could also be Meshuggah

How does this sound compared to the OG? This didn’t really strike me as something in need of a remaster. I mean, remasters of most things released in the last couple decades seems a bit extra to me

I don’t even like remasters of pre 00s stuff for the most part because I think the recording technology of the time is just as crucial a part of the experience as anything else going on, but at least in those instances I can see it serving a purpose to more accurately represent what an artist may have envisioned for their work but couldn’t due to the technological restraints. But post 2000 like… give me a break

agree 100%. i do think it's fun that the fanbase has had some fresh energy breathed into this release, seeing it all over the front page has been great. but the release itself..lol

I might just peep bleed at least out of curiosity.

Honestly post 00’s remasters usually do more harm than good in metal I’ve found. I hate this trend of rounding off the edges of a genre that is innately aggressive by giving it sterile/hollow production.

Wow it sounds virtually indistinguishable from the original

agreed potato metal production and especially metal remasters are for the most part dogshit since the turn of the ccentury
i love hearing the original sound of an album, even if its crappy lofi 90s bm or super cheap 80s thrash production for example, because that is what people heard at the time. its as close as you can get to being there!

Bleed is so played out at this point. The band doesn't even play it live anymore

The worst kind of suffering from success.

I saw them in MD last year. Honestly didn't even miss Bleed since I got Rational Gaze instead.

@twi actually spitting facts. I think it’s better than a 3.5, but agree it’s overrated as is Bleed

"Meshuggah should just re record all their albums with the exact same production as Re-nothing and leave it at that"

So you want Haake completely neutered through the whole discog, is that what you're asking for Simboyo
