I love The Veils but there’s always some filler on each album from what I’ve seen. Nux Vomica is superb but songs like Advice For Young Mothers and House are just so w.e. Still excited to hear this despite not remembering Total Depravity that well

they are the two most vanilla songs on Nux Vomica

they are not the best and they have probably aged the worst. closer is obvs the worst song overall, but those two and Pan make up the rest of the weaker tier

Yeah, except for those songs Nux has no filler! Maybe I'm just a basic bitch but I still think Caliope is the best track on the album, with title track and Birthday Present rounding out my top 3

Calliope! > Nux > Not Yet > Jesus > Birthday > One Night > Folding Branches > Pan > Young Mothers > House

Ranking’s pretty dead on, although I’d personally bump up The Day I Meet My Murderer and Epoch a notch each. The 5s are certi though

I think bullfighter edges epoch slightly for the rockers (and I don’t view them as turtleneck-esque because veils have em on every album) because of the use of the word indefatigable

could get BNM with one more staff rating, but the rest of the roster are too busy jerking it to the new Manc Orch disney soundtrack to be of much help there

more love for The Day I Meet My Murderer please, classic Finn all over that one

Yeah, this rules. The tracklist is a bit bloated but most of the songs are awesome. First experience with this band for me.

Yeah idk how that Manchester Orchestra EP is drawing more attention than this, it’s just them going through the motions. This is one of the few truly enjoyable albums I’ve listened to so far this year.

Also more love for Epoch pls
