Wax Wings - Ok who let Polyphia write a song for them? Jokes aside this one's really good.

I think the only song I have trouble getting into is Dying Star. Not a bad song, but it's as a whole, it's just not very interesting

Don't think this is gonna top P4 for me, as I liked all but one track off that album quite a lot, but the album I think will grow on me in time. It's certainly better than P3.

Got a little more ways through, and my biggest criticism is just how derivative it sounds, both of itself and others. Every song I don’t compare to P2 is compared to another band. Wax Wings sounds like a Polyphia song, Everything Is Fine sounds like a Car Bomb song, Dying Star sounds like a Skyharbor song, Silhouette sounds like… I don’t know, Eurythmics? Looking like a 3-3.5 so far.

adored "Wildfire" when it dropped and it remains the most immediate song on here for me, with "Wax Wings" and "Dracula Gras" in particular growing a lot on each listen. not gonna lie though, this feels like a big grower in comparison to IV which was an immediate love for me, so I hope to love all of these songs with time.

Silhouette ft. Nik Mystery is a perfect palette cleanser for the album. Love all the outros and interludes in all their albums. That’s what makes Periphery, Periphery.

"Silhouette ft. Nik Mystery"
Probably why I ended up liking it so much. The Internet's one of my favorite songs with Spencer.

Anyway, we lost the hockey game, so back to the album.
Dying Star - Like I said above, this one *really* feels like Skyharbor could have recorded it and I wouldn't bat an eye. But at the very least it's a really good Skyharbor song. Like, top tier from Guiding Lights good.
Zagreus - Never liked this one in the first place. Skip.
Dracul Gras - Finally, something I can call fully original wait no this is just Rainbow Gravity again. Oh well, at least it gets more interesting in the second half.
Thanks Nobuo - ...damn, this might just be my favorite Periphery closer yet. Really beautiful song, this probably saved the album from being a 2.5 or a 3.
Overall pretty good addition to the catalogue. Some of their strongest songs came from here in my eyes, but the derivativeness of a lot of stuff brought it down a lot for me. It also has probably my least favorite second half to a Periphery album out of all of them.
Wax Wings > Wildfire > Atropos > Dying Star > Silhouette > Thanks Nobuo > Dracul Gras >>> Everything Is Fine >>>>> Zagreus
