Not sure if this is my cup of tea, but those high screams are fucking awesome. Gotta spin a few more times to see if it grows or not.

Soreption + estrogen + fleshwrought leads + meshuggah dissonant parts + 0-0-0-0s + more estrogen = this band. Soytheos. Soyreption. Soywrought. All more appropriate band names.

If you don't think there's clear Soreption influence on this you are seriously deaf. I'm not even trolling or being edgy. LMAO at the 4.1 though. There is absolutely nothing resembling originality to warrant that score.

I can see it being a 3.5 at best for anyone who's heard less than 20 tech death albums in their life. I probably would have given it that if this was made ten years ago.

Also, yeah Fleshwrought was dope except for the absolutely dogshit vocals that ruined it.

Had you actually spent the three minutes it takes to read the review, you'd realize that the chef didn't 4 the record for its originality. I agree, though, that people should only be allowed to enjoy truly original music, and personal taste should be neglected when scoring media.

Also, it seems like you're vastly overrating Soreption's influence on the tech death scene. This was clearly influenced by TLC and Puddle of Mudd.

I’ve seen this band with moon tooth a few years back. Didn’t get the hype for them then, and have given them every chance to change my opinion. This sucks lol

pErSoNaL tAsTe sHoULd bE nEgLecTed wHeN sCorInG mEdiA - dude who gave this terrible album a 4.5/5.

opinions on music discarded forever. thank you for the laugh.

Also, dumbdumb: Soreption is a revered and copied band in the tech death scene. You would know this if you've ever toured or been around bands who tour, dork.

For the record, I don't care if anyone loves or hates this. If I feel the need to load a whole lot of subjective weight into a supposedly objective think piece, yeah I'm gonna do it.

Soreption is pretty hot agreed. Heard they've got a more than solid work ethic too--I don't know about the reverence and copying though. Seems way too stretchy.

Figures the person who thinks Soreption, who released their first tracks during the myspace peak, are a major influence in a more than 30-year-old genre is the kind of simpleton who needs an /s to detect sarcasm. Objective reviews are an oxymoron unless you're dealing with measurable data.

Used to organize dm gigs at the local club. Not a single musician - neither obscure acts from Brazil I can't even remember the names of nor more established bands like Origin or Cryptopsy - mentioned Soreption when talking about recent or favorite releases. Your anecdotal mileage may vary. I don't care.

I enjoyed Dark Futures quite a bit but it never quite *stuck* for me. This seems to have just the right amount of I don't know what to elevate it to a release that I've had on repeat for a hot minute. Also having Evan Brewer back on the scene with this release and the last Fallujah has me pretty ecstatic.

LMFAO. I understood your sarcasm you nitwit. I was mocking your completely cringe use of it.OBVIOUSLY REVIEWS ARE SUBJECTIVE HUR HUR. The fact you gave this a 4.5 is hilarious to me.

I'm sorry but you're just talking out of your sphincter right now. The CURRENT tech death scene highly revers Soreption and some have absolutely stolen their staccato riffing - including Soytheos, Zenith Passage, and random Artisan Era bands that all sound the same

If you don't care about anecdotes then why use one you soyboy.

I will never take you seriously ever. EDIT: You gave Planetary Duality a 4.5 too. AHAHAHAHA
