I mean there’s for sure some sludgy caveman action in the mosh parts of the album. I wish the runtime wasn’t half sound clips at the end of songs, on an EP you can get away with it but by the end of like 15 or 16 tracks it gets a little tired.

@botb i agree with you there i prefer my albums to be a bit more meat-and-potatoes and this had lots of frilly bits

Bad song writing, lack of actual riffs, breakdowns become less and less effective or memorable as the record goes on. Samples are cool and I'm sure it's fun live, but it is not a good record.

@botb those sound clips dropped it .5 for me. Feels so forced and out of place on top of lasting way too long./agreed

I’m cool with a band having a message, just don’t overwhelm me with societal issues when all I’m trying to do is checkout your hardcore record lol

This came up on my discover weekly playlist, man I wanted to like it but it's such plain hardcore, wasn't able to listen all the way.
Not for me unfortunately

Great review, pos.

Read good things about this album in a local rock/metal outlet, and I'm glad this is covered in Sputnik as well.

thanks Voivod! i'm a rare reviewer nowadays but i think i'll be trying to aim for releases that don't already have reviews whether new or old for any reviews i bother to do from here on out.

This album was fun but messy on first listen but it's slowly been growing on me. It might not scratch the same itch that Soul Glo gives me but this has me pretty intrigued for future releases

Not sure I'm fully on board with the approach they are taking with this album - its quite rough & jarring in some places...but I am kinda digging it. A weak 3.5 for me so far, will listen again.

Will be interesting to see how they develop their sound on the next album.
