@Decapitat3d
That seems like a very narrow view on what is and isn't metal. Not everything needs growls or harsh vocals. This is most definitely metal

"progressive" metal has become a bit of a misnomer lol

None of the singles really did much for me. For those that felt the same and have now heard the whole album… any good?

@GhostS, that sounds like me. I mostly kept the same headspace. But it seems there's some split decisions on this.

the instrumentals are fine and pretty cool sometimes even, but the songwriting and singing is gut-wrenching

Enjoying this. I feel like it'd be a 2023 frontrunner if prog was even slightly my thing.

Listened to about half on my lunch break. So far so good. I really don’t like that alphabet of me song though. I wonder if it could grow on me.

Enjoying this a ton. So happy with the diversity and how smooth of a listen this is from front to back. Might be a hot take but I still wish they'd ease up a bit on the techy mathrocky-ness that's pervaded their songwriting since ~Affinity (but maybe that wouldnt make it PRAWG enough). Though, this is one of their better realized albums recently.

This album is actually really fucking good. They’re so undeniably talented. Might need to scoop this up on wax.

So far this is great, and the riffs are really good but too short lived most of the time. They move on to a soft Ross can sing section.
Needs more Nil by Mouth.
