The album has a theatrical presence that seems to linger throughout. Almost a stage if you will... Reminds me of summoning in that way

Indeed, I also thought of Summoning - and early CoF.

Still not sure how to rate this.

Damn, this is good. Not bringing much new to the table, but executed so well and hitting the right spot as the cold season is closing in. Outstanding melodies and compositions make it compelling enough to stand out and warrant multiple spins.

They just put out an orchestral version of this that is sublime. Feels like adventuring through snow in FFVI

Maybe the orchestral version will change your mind 🤠

This is probably around a 3.5 for me too but I seem to really enjoy how well done it is

Not much of a black metal fan but this was great. Will need more listens though.

You rate exactly as you feel Eg! For me I dig every song but when it gets to Through the Night's Gloom, Oceans of Grief and t/t, it starts to elevate to above other albums heard this year. Get slightly different vibes in every context I play this - with speakers, on headphones and in the car and it hits all

Nash I saw they released an orchestral version i shd peek. But its the guitars and drums that sound so huge on the main release

Bands in this genre have been killing it lately, and this album is no exception. Excited to check the orchestra version too, it's really neat they did that!
