Kveldssanger is superb but the songs were a bit underdeveloped at times. I like how this expands on that style a bit more but maintains the tranquil atmosphere. It is 25 years later too so a follow-up isn't gonna sound the same.

I honestly expected the Flea bass lick after that first arpeggio in Mot Soleglad.

This rules as
Expected. Great read.

The modern production (and cover art, which I am not a huge fan of) is what makes the disconnect between this and 'Kveldssanger' so strong.
I guess I wish this had more of a 90s vibe

I didn't even know this was related to Kveldssanger in any way, just coincidentally checking both this week due to discovering Musk Ox and wanting some context / similar-ish stuff
This is nice enough, although it doesn't quite get me going in the way some of MO's stuff does.

The master returns! Stunning album and honestly loving the more cinematic approach to the compositions. Honoured to have Musk Ox mentioned in the same conversation. On a Kveldssanger note, I'm currently working with Haavard on an official tab book for that classic.
