Seems like this has the most straightforward heavy hardcore/mosh content of any of their albums, correct me if I’m wrong. Seems less punk rock. Makes it feel kind of samey and one note at times. A lot of the album feels like one texture. Seems like the banjo was incorporated less crucially than in previous outings; there were moments where I thought Julian might as well be playing a drop tuned guitar. I dug the overall noiseyness of it. The vocals were absolutely feral too, in the best way. Using It was probably my favorite track here. I feel like the album as a whole needs more melody. I miss tunes like Tight Swat, Chrome Exposed, and Body War off of their first LP. Still great, I just feel like they could have been more creative with things. I’ve never been to in the moments where it was just solo banjo and vocals either, my ear wants more melodic driving rock sections.

it loses melody in place of riffs and noise, i don't disagree. i would take an entire album of k-9 and k-9 sounding songs over this any day.
but what they added i think is a leap better than previous releases, esp in the realm of synth. imo the best songs here are the radiators, out of places, boils ups, etc because they're the most punk ones lol. the idea that this album feels samsey isn't wild, but i think that's because we're accustomed to their albums being radically disjointed. here is just a slab of beef w/ the experimental fats trimmed

Band gives off big try-hard rock n studio gangsters tailored for rich white girls that shoplift vibes. Idk wanted to like it more than I ended up. Banjos are are always cool though.
