who knew a 2022 elton john album would be pretty good

this album is such dogshit, sorry, i am a long time arctic monkeys fan who saw them on their first tour of the US way back in the day and have been happy to see them grow in popularity and develop their sound all the years since. this album feels
so uninspired and it’s just…boring. i actually somewhat enjoyed “tranquility base…”, quite a bit—it took a little bit to grow on me and i had
hoped this would be the case with this album as well, but no dice. the best tracks on here sound like they didn’t make the cut for the last one.
also idk what some of you are smoking but this certainly does not have elton john vibes. i guess my hopes of one day getting another album from the monkeys produced by josh gimme is as unlikely to happen as seeing another “them crooked vultures” album. shame.

this has a nice couple of tracks, but overall it's a chore and a bore. also self-indulgent in a not-so-appealing way.

Mirrorball still gets a lot of play for me, but not the rest of this, might bump down
