Blue Rev is excellent. But I can listen twice before I go to bed, and then wake up with Next of Kin or Adult Diversion from the first album running through my head. And then try as a might, I find it difficult to recall the melodies of the new songs.

I'm not really sure what that means, but I am fascinated to see how Blue Rev settles in terms of their discography over the next year or so.

I like this kind of happy sappy and saccharine

plus the production is nuts so ye

I think one of my favourite things about this album is how effortlessly chameleonic the emotions of the songs are. Listened to the album walking around town after a bad day and cried my eyes out. Listening again now after things have taken a turn for the better and it feels like a fist pump victory lap.

It’s not that the songs lack any emotions, it’s that they have handholds for so many different ones.

I might have been too harsh with my 3 for this, still don't like this nearly as much as Antisocialites, but some of the janglier songs are starting to have their effect on me, specially After The Earthquake, which might be my favorite tune from this.

Love that Johnny and I are having the same journey with this album. Still think “Tile By Tile” is my favorite but the first two, “Many Mirrors”, and “Belinda Says” are also quite amazing.

I really liked VOG when it released as a single but it’s grown off me as one of the lowlights of the album too (still pretty good though - the bridge and final climax alone make the song worth it).
