"sort of reinforces the idea that you guys are just straight up wrong here"
Why are you getting so buttblasted about this, Colton? You can still like this album even if people dislike it.

This is the Bjork album that ends the subjectivity/objectivity debate once and for all? What a relief

I think the issue here might be the assumption because someone doesn’t like this album they don’t respect it and acknowledge it as valid art
I mean that’s accounting for a lot of that 2.5, enjoyment was at a real premium…but it’s objectively valid art sure

But is anyone legitimately arguing whether it is "good" or not, quality-wise (whatever that in intended to mean)? I think the objections thus far are simply riffs on "I don't like it" and the various reasons therein. You can acknowledge the craft of something while finding it personally annoying, pretentious, boring, shit, whateverelse.

"not everything needs conventional melodies, and it's weird how ppl acknowledge that for so many other artists but not for Bjork."
You could say the same thing about Viper.

I think arguing that an album is objectively good or not is pointless, but it is certainly true that Sputnik is an outlier when it comes to appreciation of Fossora. Since Vespertine, only Vulnicura is better rated professionally on Metacritic (85) and Any Decent Music (79), and Album of the Year (80) has it marginally behind Biophilia as well. User opinion has it her highest rated of all on Metacritic (9.2), and only behind Vulnicura on RYM (3.63) and AotY (81).
Yeah, so that it isn't evidence that it is "good", but it's evidence the dislike here is not the consensus view.
