I've only listened to Pain Remains 1 just now and thought it slapped. Saving the rest for the drop at this point.

Yeah usually all their songs sound the same post flesh coffin so hopefully there's some diversity on here.

Willie as a few previous said, Reclaimer and Melancholy are the Shadow of Intent albums to check out. Elegy was a little lacklustre but still decent.

Gotta check this out. Don’t know them well but I like what I’ve heard so far.

Always nice to read a review from you, Trey. I'm pumped for this

She Must Burn (painfully edgy name I know) had the more entertaining symphonic deathcore release today, imo. I'm having a hard time getting into this. Gonna spin it again later but I just found it tiresome on my first pass.

I like breakdowns, but does a song really need 3 of it? I don't think so. Sometimes it feels so try hard to sound BrUtAl for the reaction community.
Next time they sould also get some help for the orchestration parts and add more variety in their songs.

This ends up being so much more boring than I wanted.

This album at 1:30 AM makes me wish the paralysis demon would come back just so I could make it through this with more enthusiasm.
But besides the boring parts, it's pretty cool

They should have just done an EP with the Pain Remains tracks because the bulk of the album is utterly forgettable, and a bit exhausting. None of these tracks should be as long as they are, given that very few of them have anything distinct to say.
3 for the redeeming moments but honestly this is closer to a 2.5 if I'm ranking overall enjoyment.

I don't listen to deathcore. AOTY.
For those who also don't listen to deathcore and are interested in other deathcore bands, I also recommend Shadow of Intent and on top of it - Brand of Sacrifice. Both these bands transcend the deathcore genre in other ways than Lorna does.

The review captures my thoughts perfectly. Overall, there is a lot to like about this album, I just wish they would strip back the momentum-killing breakdowns.
Pain Remains trilogy is absolutely outstanding.

I'm exhausted after the first two songs lol, maybe 60min is a little too long for a deathcore album

"This band is really good when they play anything but deathcore."
exactly how I feel. What should I check out if I love the melodic stuff, riffing, and symphonic style these guys bring?

I think I would be a lot more okay with this if they didn't punctuate pretty much every song with one or more of the exact same breakdown. Just completely destroys the flow for most of the songs. I'm certainly not averse to ridiculous heaviness but they make the album feel very samey throughout. I'm starting my second full listen to see how I feel after.
