Only song I've ever heard by them was Monochrome off of Noir, but I really liked it. I guess I should stick to that album if I want to check out more.

Nah that's okay my mans, you have it pretty well taken care of, and I only review albums that don't already have a review.

I'm a sucker for this. Short album, no filler - would never skip a song if it comes up on random, memorable melodies. Not on the same level as the new DRUGS, but this it's a nice restart for them. A light 4 vegan cookie recipe.
I do agree however, that the drummer needs to finally do more than bare minimum. That's definitely one aspect where DRUGS shines in comparison

"No filler". 5 interludes of filler lol. Erre is really nice but even then it doesn't match with the actual songs.
I will agree that if you forget that this is Novelists, the actual songs are pretty great. Also yeah if you like the Monochrome vibe stick to the first 3 Novelists albums for sure.

@Get Low
Some of the choruses hit but these vocals are so pitch corrected and processed it takes me out of it a little bit. Matteo had a better singing voice that's for sure.

"Get Low really going to trash these guys for like 2 years straight and then give this a 4? Lmaoooooo"
I'm still not above talking trash about these guys because everything they've done since Matteo left has been utterly retarded. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed three of the five singles when they dropped, and the two I wasn't crazy about (Do u really wanna know and Smoke Signals) have both grown on me, and sound better within the context of the album. The 4 rating is for the album itself, not the shitty rollout strategy they used solely to maximize profit that spanned two years.
I was not the least bit surprised by the interlude spam, because they mentioned in an Instagram Q&A video that they did last year that the idea of writing an album stressed them out, and they were far more interested in releasing singles. I was surprised that they even released an album in the first place, but since I like all of the songs on here (including the interludes), I will absolutely take it over having to search for the songs individually on Spotify when I want to hear them, or otherwise having to go out of my way to make them into a playlist.

Without the underwhelming release strategy and the fact that I miss the Novelists sound, I would rate this a 3.5. On its own it's a lot of fun
