This thing is officially 1 year old today :')
We did a pretty lengthy article for a pretty substantial (for us) webzine that will go live sometime next week, I believe.

I spoke with Karol at IDIOTEQ to look back on this record, a small track-by-track commentary, SSOH more generally, our future, and my personal struggles that lead to some of the musics you hear here. The sputfam get a little shoutout - the impact of the support from all you kind folks genuinely saved my ass from the brink of personal cataclysm and a complete ejection from music as a whole.
Some may find some of my ramblings of interest - a little added context behind the tracks, etc. etc.

Great read, interesting to see the process behind the tracks. Can't wait for the new material to be released in 2026

It was really interesting article and made realise that I need to listen to the album again while focusing on the lyrics more. Also, that fact around 'Expose Him' made that part so much cooler lol. Anyway, can't wait for LP2.
|
| |
@Z, hahaha yes expose him is a SSOHboiz staple lol
1 rating away from 100 - very strange feeling to know that 100 people may have actually listened to your shit all the way through...

Also, have a had a small bit of creative wind in our sails as of late (we have ostensibly not done anything for the bulk of the year while we work on building my new studio space).
At this point we've got a handful of tracks completely done, a few that are deeply in the works (really waiting for my lame ass to finalize melodies and lyrics), and a few other ideas mulling about. Two of these things are really big and epic for someone with as little technical chops as myself - have been challenging myself to write with some odd chords and structures. Still the same ethos - can't change that

Is 2024 the year of SSoH2
|
| |
If I had to venture a guess, I would say no. I would say that by the end of this year, though, we will be ready to start production on LP2. I have an extremely large and attention-draining studio that I am building and it has eaten up lots of the creative bandwidth for me. Hoping to do some shows in the spring and autumn, and then hunker down late this year or early next year to do a record
