One thing I will say is that the music gets a bit too big for its britches at times production wise. True Loss is the main offender to me but this is so consistent, thoughtful and emotionally complex to resist.

Hmm that was the first time this band did something that kinda overwhelmed me in a bad way but I can’t complain about everything else. The title track sounds like something Deafheaven would do if they returned to metal and did something a little more sinister.

i will say i watched deafheaven at FF last year in a shed as the sun was setting and i was peaking on shrooms and they only played old stuff and it was kinda cool but their albums are so mid that it bothers me
