yea Spirit I was really keen for this and it fully delivered. love how Kurt mixes together bits of his delivery from ALLB, Gold Necklace and his solo stuff here, it's such a diverse performance
new Secret Band next please

His vocal acrobatics on this are for sure next level. I especially like his more funk and r&b passages, the dichotomy between those and the more post-hardcore centered moments work really well together

I definitely agree with you about Even If though. I actually think it should be the opener on here, the energy it comes on with is so infectious
they levelled up crazy this era. I really like the first two albums but Numbing Agent is probably the only song that could stack up with the shit on here

He’s improved so much since happiness

his voiced aged, happens with a lot of folk. but yeah this is a little too samey for anything higher than a 3.5. The second track is a standout but this group has always struggled for any real dynamism in their writing. good for the rest of the summer though for sure

Hmmm, yeah I can see what you mean. There’s a lot diversity WITHIN the tracks themselves, but the album as whole maintains a very consistent sound and tone throughout. I just happen to like that I guess, haha

last two songs are so amazing
only gripe i have is some of the verse patterns are j kinda the same 2 notes over and over, but everything else absolutely rips

Upon first listen, this is infinitely better than DGD. Not familiar with the previous two albums but gonna give this a spin and rate

First song in, it reminds more of A Lot Like Birds than Dance Gavin Dance and it's a fantastic thing.

well this circle jerk ain't gonna jerk itself!

Great album for sure but I feel like ppl are overselling how good it is to stick it up DGD's ass

I only know DGD's work from Mothership and onward, so it's not fair to compare this to DGD's entire backlog. That said, this is better than their Tillian-era work, and I'm not just saying that because of the charges: this album sounds like what I'd imagine DGD sounds like if they weren't trying to be lolmeme, and I enjoy that (but also Mothership as well, when in the mood).

Saw them live last night (and DGD) and they killed it. Sergio reminds me a lot of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, what with the hair, how he moves on stage, and also the absolute guitar slaying.

Wow this first song is amazing. Love hearing them have fun and Kurt going after it

This is rad. Kurt sounds great and the album has a great flow to it. This might be in my rotation for a while
