Why spend a ton of money on multiple locations when most people will only watch the video a few times, at most. One set-up, one tear-down, multiple videos. A project like this probably doesn't have a ton of money being thrown at it for promotion and videos. Besides, it's a wonderful roof. ;)

The singles on this were kinda meh but I'm going to give it a go regardless because I want this to be a banger.
This gives me hope:
Fortunately, though, Days of the Lost isn’t just a guitar-driven Dark Tranquillity clone. While there are songs that would fit comfortably in that band’s discography, there’s also a welcome throwback to Colony-era In Flames as well as a handful of songs that blend all the influences together.

Sounds like what I expected. Sounds like 90s in flames and current DT formed a supergroup and released the b-sides as an album

Hey Crysis!
Long time; hope all is well with you. Been out to any shows lately/post-pandemic?

Sup Blade, haven't been to many shows, last one I went to was to see Full of Hell in Portland ME back in March. Haven't been over to Worcester in quite a while, I think the last time I went there was to see Horrendous before COVID. Definitely need to get out to more shows.
Listening to this now, "Conditional" slays for days and "In Broken Trust" is catchy af

Same here - not a ton of shows for us, but no threat of a biohazard will stop my wife from attending the DT shows, so we made it over to Worcester for the DT/Kataklysm/Nailed to Obscurity show. Place was mobbed, and just as high energy as always.
Yea - Conditional is a stellar track, with some other highlights for me being Gateways and A Truth Worth Lying For...

First impressions are that I like this better than the new DT if only because this actually riffs. I've always been a strong proponent of guitar-driven melodic death and DT lately has been far from that. The biggest issue with this album is that it is super formulaic, if they were more daring with the songwriting this could have been something pretty special. It gives us glimpses of something more - the strings in "Last of Our Kind" for example - but that kind of experimentation is never explored more than surface-level and never implemented in portions of the songs other than the intro, outro, or bridge. I will say though that I loved the lead into and execution of Matt Heafy's vocals.
This definitely has a ton of replay value and would probably be ridiculously fun live, but it never leaves its comfort zone when it would probably benefit significantly from doing so.

I will not listen to this and you can't make me.

Album owns, Mikael has more energy than he's had since at least before Atoma and instrumentally this sounds like a sort of tri-way halfway point between Clayman, Reroute, and Damage Done. There was basically no way I wasn't going to love this though.
It's also great that they showed some restraint and made it a tight 40 instead of overwriting it and having it be an hour or more

The good news if you dug this is they announced in a recent interview they have a ton of material left over from this that they are already considering for the next album
|

Oh, that is good news. I don't think its a stretch to say this is better than IF's next album will be and is on par or better than DT's eventual next album so more of this will be nice.

IF will never release anything as good as Dark Tranquillity's latest output this late in their career

If you don’t like Dark Tranquillity’s latest album ‘Moment’ then you won’t like this and vice versa. If you like this and haven’t heard Moment yet, then get on that. Both albums are a lot of fun.

AE's always been fine, they've just been stagnate for the past several albums
new one actually feels like they're having fun and I enjoyed it a lot
this on the other hand feels like 70% DT B-sides, 30% IF B-sides from 20-25 years ago
