Thanks Mr. Chef :-)
And yeah, Seven of Your Favorite Stars is absolutely breathtaking, possibly my favorite here although it's close between that, the t/t, and Chalk Dust. To The Touch is also in the running.

Catch me stoned out vibing to the bass in Melt Beneath the Sun from now til forever

Loving the diversity in people’s favorite tracks here (I’ve also heard some support for Shapeless and Summit among others)

I was dumb enough to listen to this first time on meh car speakers, listening now with headphones and getting my fucking hair blown back this is spectacular

Shapeless was fairly immediate, but Summit is growing on me big time. I really appreciate its role within the story. It feels like a turning point.
Speaking of which, Koi Pond is absolutely sublime and Matt knocked the lyrics and drumming out of the park on that one.

Shapeless is easily my fav of the 3/4ish tracks i've heard

O damn Jonathan actually listened lfg, I need someone to bring me back down to earth lmao

Going to put some YoYo-core on the playlist today.

The bass on this album is ridiculously good, everything is ridiculously good but I get excited when I can actually hear the bass making a contribution
The best thing about this for me is how utterly in-sync it all sounds, each member's contribution sounds so distinct

I'm one of the worst people at picking out bass and recognizing its contributions to the music, but you're absolutely right. I should have given Kyle much more credit than I did in my review, but I sort of got on the lyrics/themes and got carried away, haha.

Seven of Your Favorite Stars makes me happy to be alive, literally heavenly

Yeah when I first heard it I was grinning ear to ear, absolutely awestruck. I love that it comes right after Chalk Dust too, which by DT standards is pretty intense and carries a pretty sobering message. It clearly was meant to act as the yang to Chalk Dust's yin, and it succeeds completely.

bro seeing these 5s is legitimately so surreal, thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts
|

I will completely admit I was a tiny bit sceptical with all the 5's but it is 110% legit, probably tied with Proper. for my AOTY

Purchased the album just now (I had iTunes credits, so sorry it wasn't bandcamp!) but am also rounding out my 4th full stream on Spotify of the day. Wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being my most-listened to album of 2022 even discounting the 15+ full album spins from the promo file.

Sowing you will probably always be the ultimate DT superfan, I don’t even know what to say : )

Well, you know it's a good album when a 4.5 lowers the average ;-)
Edit: Hopefully this also gets some more folks to peep Midnight Sky.
Edit #2: Am I the only nerd here who's actually watched the entire music video for The Second Chicago Fire?

Lassie found the Flicker video once, I can only imagine he also saw the Chicago video
