This is easily his best since Beautiful Things imo. I've enjoyed all his projects, but this delivers on some of the fire he had early in his career that I felt had somewhat gone missing. Really good stuff

great review!
I've never really given his solo stuff the time of day but feeling intrigued to try this one

I think this is a solid starting spot if you've never checked out his solo stuff. Avalon is definitely at the top of the mountain, but this is also pretty in line with that sonically, albeit with horns

2nd time around through my clearest headphones and this is hittin me harder. love all the layers of brass throughout
last album has higher highs imo but this album has a much cooler sonic palate so fair trade

Excited to check this out. Also hoping Anthony is doing better, didn't realize that he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and had a suicide attempt.
Nice review Row!

Agreed. Personally, Avalon is the only other one I go back to often. This seems like it's going to have a lot of replayability. I have heard all his others just not more than once or twice; they never grabbed me.

After a couple of more listens, I think this is probably his best since Avalon. I think Beautiful Things is a really strong solo record that I still return to from time to time, but this is just so much more gripping and emotional. Anthony has talked about shedding his demons a lot for the past decade, but this really feels like the first time that some are being exorcised. Knowing what he's been through, there are a lot of moments here that give me chills from how straightforward and direct his thoughts are.

I like this way more than Avalon but I'm in the minority that thinks that record is fairly overrated
this, Beaut Things and Would You Still are his solo peak

Listening to this a few times through this morning. Pleasure of the Feast just really stood out on this listen.

Leave this on the front page longer. Needs/deserves more attention. This is my favorite Anthony Green solo release I think. Really stellar album. The brass and melodies are phenomenal.

His best solo release in years. Maybe ever. Time will tell. But I’ve been jamming this for a week and just now realized it’s basically AG doing his best neutral milk hotel impression, particularly on the second track.
