I am a little stressed

this is also what certain indie tosspots call a ""lyric"" ""sheet"" ""album""
it will not make you less stressed
|

Ah there's no need for stress. =(
Get yourself a cup of tea, pop your slippers on and unwind. If the music isn't doing much for you, take a break and enjoy something you like.

Cameron Picton, who sings that song, is openly gay
If you're gonna pick something to hate about Black Midi, don't let it be that the gay guy said "fag" in a song

Cavalcade was awesome, as this is as well.

I assumed Ars' comment was directed towards Rowan's on p1. Personally don't think it's problematic for a gay artist to use that word to voice a homophobic character in a queer-posi song (though the narrations across the board here are so slapdash and bombastic that I feel the nuance there is hard to make out without a little homework)
And ty, midicat will eat men all day erryday

sensible but idk shit about this band so no opinion

Shclalaggeihien would be their best if the vocals weren’t so bad half the time

don't think it's problematic for a gay artist to use that word period

"cant tell is if this is somehow worse than the last one or their best yet"
deeply relatable. Welcome to Hell is one of the worst here fwiw, album is mostly smooth sailing once you're out the other side

Hm I liked the debut decently, did not like the last one so I guess I might kind of like this one (haven’t heard it yet to be clear)?
Sput has many flaws (or more generously, idiosyncrasies) but I’m glad most here see through this band (or at least don’t obsessively fellate them) unlike the likes of RYM.

It's actually not too complicated.
You know how albums of a certain death metal/metal aesthetic get super hyped and rated on Sput? Take that, now translate it to indie, regardless of whether or not a band has done it before.
It's also often a requirement that the band is underground, but not too underground. Underground enough to where you can brag at parties, but not so obscure that you can't join in on the mass groupthink.
Bonus points if the band is British.
Theory in progress ig
