I really only came around to this after seeing them play the whole thing live. It really translates well

Still holds up as an excellent album to me. But to each their own, I guess.

Yeah when I heard this album for the first time I didn't expect it to be so controversial. From my pov instrumentation is nice as always and Casey doesn't stop using his vocal chords in the best ways possible. It's just that big part of the album just doesn't get there in song structure and melodies

Album feels like it's missing a beginning and an end, which definitely threw me off at first. But there's still a lot to love on here, even if it is missing that traditional epic "take you on a journey" Dear Hunter album structure.

Wildly misunderstood album! Ring 6 - LoTown is a stunning song, weirdly nostalgic considering it's still fairly recent. Felt that in a few songs on here.
Honestly think my 4 is a bit low actually, might bump to a 4.5

Really tried with this but it's not hitting for me, some good tracks but a lower tier TDH for me

It is fun in it's own right but we need another Act 4/5

This album fucking blows (in the good way) live - I can't remember the last time I had as much fun at a gig
