It's nowhere near as good as In Absentia though

dunno, i've wasted less of my life on it waiting for it to get good, so my disposition is positive in that regard at least

Upon first listen, I found myself starting to get bored after Chimaras Wreck. I may just need to listen to it a little more, but right now I'm a tad disappointed

Interesting to see many ppl on here found the bonus tracks to be the highlights. Population and Walk the Plank are currently the songs that do nothing for me.

I enjoyed all of this but none of it blew me away. Gavin is still a top tier drummer. Solid comeback album and significantly better than The Incident

It’s wonderfully produced, an immersive album, sound wise. Song wise, meh.

The album is good, but a bit more clinical than I hoped it would be.

"That s a pt issue for me in general."
I can see where this is coming from, but compare this album to let's say "Last Chance To Evacuate.." which is a perfect song for the argument here. That song embodies a thought- music character, but also offers you a bunch of very playful timbres. C/C suffers from the "modern music has the drums way louder than anything else in the mix" syndrom of our Zeitgeist and i feel like that would make it feel sterile to some ppl. If you listen to SW ramble about "society doesn't need music anymore", that album will make more sense i think. Whether you agree on it being pleasantly transmitted into art form or not.

Definetly feels a little lifeless, yea. I guess what this albums lacks are the great melodies Wilson came up with back then. I don't see anything of that here

It's a safe PT album, very typical of most comeback albums tbh.
Still enjoyable, though.

This is going to be the kind of album people really start appreciating once it's been out a while. Definitely a grower.
