Digging the music, but really can't get into the vocals

Yea +1 on Kevin’s Car. That has been my favorite grower on the album.

I think Teletype is my favorite overall. Can’t stop listening to that glitchy mess of a blessed hook

Album keeps getting better and better for me. Jennifer is fantastic, arguably the best single they've ever released. Shark Week is a banger. Hex is ridiculously contagious. They're the best amalgamation of brit-pop/rock since Arctic Monkeys in my opinion. And even that feels insulting to say since their sound is so unique, but it's quite clear where some of their influences stem from. Great review!

the pitchfork review is particularly gash for this. some choice cuts:

"the band's sixth album feels like music for a Minecraft convention"

"Bad Friday, the album's best song"

also the writer has a problem with the AI lyrics being indistinguishable from higgs' own, especially as we don't know which is which, but isn't that The Entire Fuckin Point?

some of the well known phrases in the lyrics feel a bit 'really?' and I always imagine that was the bot

Kevin's Car is honestly one of their best songs outright. Such a tight, pretty banger

Only thing with Kevin's Car I can't decide whether the bridge is a little slice of unconventional Air-like genius...or it just gets a bit lost.

I've listened to the song more than ten times and I'm still unsure on that bit.

Glad this got a review finally, well written. I think Jennifer would have to be my favorite song but it’s a tough choice

I've loved everything this band has put out but they kinda fell off for me with this one. The hooks aren't really there apart from maybe 3-4 songs and it also feels a lot less creative than their first 3 albums and a lot less tighter musically than their recent 2 albums. shame
