FJM was inappropriate and desperate piss weak pastiche genre exercises

This sounds like Wilco showing the quiet confidence of a band who've been operating in a genre for 20+ years and have more than earned their chops in said wheelhouse

Pretty much exact opposite

I can take people saying "I personally have had enough of Wilco" but clearly this is one of their better recent albums and shows what an 'old Wilco' sounds like recording a double compared to 'young Wilco' on 'Being There'.

Yeah, this just gets more and more lovely with every spin.

I don't mind

When certain people die

I can't cry

I wonder why

I could lie and say

It makes me sad

There's something wrong with me

Maybe I'm just bad...

Agreed.

I still know the first half a lot better than the second…

It’s better but not that much so. The whole thing flows well and tends to go by quickly for me. I listened yesterday whole relaxing by/in the pool on a gorgeous day and it was the perfect soundtrack.

I actually very much disagree, I enjoyed the second half more from the get-go and it's only improved its margin over time. Still plenty of good songs on the first half though.

The back half of "Many Worlds" is the aural equivalent of relief and recovery from an easing illness

Potentially one of their very best songs

not really sold on the new one being billed as some big daring departure for them since to me it j sounds like better produced wilco lol but its still really good and a more than worthy entry into the discog
