Some of the moments I initially pegged as musically weaker have begun to grow on me and the highlights are pretty damn high. Could see myself raising the rating before year's end.

It's a prickly album to try conveying the strengths and weaknesses of and a loaded artist to do so with to boot. This is a pretty spot on fair assessment of it, Milo. Props

I still don't know if my 4.5 will stick, it's mainly based on the strength of the better songs

It’s the “shimmy shimmy cocoa puff” thing that has me scratching my head. Looked up three different lyric sites and they all had something slightly different

Zero singles, yet N95 already at 20 million Spotify plays in just a few days. Imagine having that kind of reach. Christ.

Great review dude. Just wanted to say I think the music not being perfectly attuned to the verses in cerains songs thing is more intentional than it seems. Almost as if to emphasize all the contradictions and thought processes he's been going through. It may ultimately not be the most enjoyable thing, and I may be making excuses for him, but I really enjoy this record and get that feeling from it
