Even if the debut is cooler (check Acidic Twilight Visions hehe) this one is better.

“I listened to the flac version to be sure, still squished. It's far from ruining the album, would just be a tad better with some more DR.”

i guess I’m just having a hard time figuring out why it’s an issue for this album specifically. I even asked my recording engineer friend and he was like “yeah this sounds like pretty standard 2022 death metal production.”

almost every every osdm album I’ve heard this year sounds like this, it’s like industry standard at this point. and it sounds just fine tbh. not amazing, but certainly not bad either.

It's not the only album for which I have this criticism and clearly I'm not the only person to notice. Even then I've said I really like the album, and the mix itself is great.

It... isn't a big deal lol

Triple D I'd prob agree this is a hair better than the debut. Same quality at the least. The debut rules hard to.

i mean I guess that was a but aggressive but my point is that I’m just trying to talk about things my man. and people rarely talk production which is one of my favorite things to discuss.

sorry if i came across as abrasive.

@Em yap bro. I end up rating them equally. I had a lot of un with both yesterday m/

And I must say, I don t remember Lesions being so good, with them proggy bits and all, when it came out, although I 4 it back then. Very strong 4s on my book.

They've taken it a step further, both musically and as a collective, but on balance the albums have a similar quality. My nerd rating for Lesions is actually 3.8, but I don't intend to update it.

I would say that creativelly you can tell the sharp edge you mentioned on Lesions like the cover suggests XD

This is indeed a step further in quality, and focused on praising the DM greats I think.

The guys take pride in highlighting their influences, I love that. Early 90's-Morbid Angel and especially Cannibal Corpse are omnipresent.
