This criticism is kidnapping. Because Papa Roach's music is more popular radio-friendly music, which is the band's position. It's like you clicking into a Popcorn movie and then criticizing it for having no depth.

And the fact that this is normal standard music for entire swaths of Earth, but let’s make fun of adults for liking something.

I never would've thought this band would be so divisive on sput in 2022...

"I never would've thought this band would be so divisive on sput in 2022..."
they are really way too persistent. we all know that they could have stopped making music and just lived the life of “rock stars”. But they're still jumping around on stage, dropping albums one after another, trying all sorts of exaggerated synth and doing reckless rap. in 2000s I found it ridiculous, in 2010s it became funny, and in 2020s it finally became respectful.
You really have to believe Jacoby Shaddix will be into this kinda music all his life till nursing homes and nothing can stop him. His poor taste makes the band an easy target to receive attack here. But I think it's worth living the life like Jacoby because I can see he's really enjoying it. band is great in its own way.
edit: I'm sure I'm not the only one who can relate, but a lot of people shy away from saying it for their music is outdated (in the words from another thread, "butt rock"). I'm still waiting for a fair review to be given to Papa Roach. I also hope they can put out a decent, carefully-made record in the future.

I get what you're saying. I honestly think Jacoby is one of the better frontmen of his time in terms of just sheer energy. And one of my biggest complaints with the last record was that he sounded bored for most if it. Don't really like this one either but it feels much more like they are having fun

Haven't heard a second of this but really hoping this isn't a 1.5 : [

^ Why’s that? I’ve never known them to not be horrendous.

I've never listened to a Papa Roach album before. They had a single which was popular on the radio when I was in my younger teen years. 'Last Resort'. Everyone knows that one.
I had a listen to 'Always Wandering' from this album just now. It wasn't what I was expecting. Very radio ready rock. Not my vibe but I'm surprised this isn't more of a hit with radio listeners. Lack of promotion? That terrible album art?

very much enjoyed this review. i do feel like criticizing lyrics on a papa roach album is like criticizing sput for its 2005 era layout. feature not a bug!

In response to some comments on this page i agree that Jacoby has a energetic stage presence. This album caters to that and will translate live better than anything theyve done since Paramour Sessions
