I think they work.
I remember seeing Labrakis (the singer) saying high pitched vocals or just cleans wouldn-t work for him, he just can't sing like that. And tbh, if it wasn't for his vocals I would have passed on this like it happened with bands like Haunt.

True. Even on first jam when I wasn't crazy about them they definitely stood out. I'm normally not a huge fan of the typical vocal approach in this style of metal anyway so it was a breath of fresh air before I warmed up to it
