Rabid thinks Humanz by Gorillaz is a good album and then expects people to value and respect his approval.
This is disappointing after Practice of Love. I thought I wanted less experimental Jenny Hval but turns out I just want to listen to Viscera.
Almost preordered the VMP pressing of this. Glad I went with new Wilma Vritra instead.

Maybe I have bad taste but I wasn't feeling it, it's decent but not great. I don't see myself revisiting this anytime soon tbch.

This is a masterpiece. Jenny is a masterqueeness.

A little overkill but I see your point and passion and I respect that.

i loved her lost girls record from last year so excited to hear this, think apocalypse girl is still my fave of her main stuff

i think i still prefer her more experimental stuff, but it's nice listening to a more introspective hval

also, saw her first live show for this tour and it's the first time she's been performing with an honest-to-god band since 2013 or smth
i miss the zany performance antics on stage tbh

Idk, I think this album makes a lot of sense after Practice of Love. Her artsy antics are cool and all but I like this more... "musical?" side of her stuff.
|
| |
Also she's just such a good lyricist:
"Once you played in empty bars
Performing for the beer tap and the pool tables
Nobody giving you their card
Because you have potential"

Somehow found a trio of albums in circulation: this, lack the low and Mary Simich

Definitely in love with this thing, second best just after Viscera for me, and considering that album is like a totally different animal, this might be my favorite of the "not artsy" Hval albums, if that makes sense.

Yeah, may be my favourite of hers honestly - a bit early to say, but this feels really good

Halfway through this and it’s really tasty so far, much much more up my alley than I remember Blood Bitch being.

Haven’t stopped spinning this daily - still feels good

Not sure about this one yet. I do think the songwriting could be a bit more... more.
