Yeah BH are not a first-spin click band at all, Depression Cherry started at a 3.5 for me and worked its way up to a 5 over a few years. First listen to this was pretty good for me though, it feels somewhere in the middle/upper half of their discog, between Bloom and 7 perhaps, though idk if it has the highlights of either.

Yeah, I listened through this three times yesterday, and my appreciation for it grew with each listen.

I did dig the use of strings on a number of tracks, that along with some of the more straight synthpop/indietronic stuff feel like the main tweak to their previous styles they’ve done here. Probably their sunniest album since Teen Dream (as the covers to each indicate) which is nice for a band that I typically find more nocturnal.

not that big of a beach house fan, but I guess my favorite song might be either PPP or Wildflower.

So bloated. Such awful release method... Ugh. It's not bad, but still.

Im a full album purist. 2-3 singles is ok, but cutting up an album into pieces feels wrong to me, I dunno.
