While I think the level of criticism for this band seems very skewed, I understand where it's based. But for me, I still enjoy the metal-tinged earworms this band puts out.

Some tracks are fun but "bow" sounds like boring ass stock music to slide under a pickup truck commercial.

Gave Church Burns and Death to the Holy a spin and wow this is like… if Imagine Dragons tried to spice things up with a “heavier” album bad.

Lol at calling the middle scored (albeit skewed negative) write up so inaccurate it’s puzzling while dropping a 5/5 on this piece of shit all over the place insipid album.

Well I'd expect nothing less from a dude that gave this a 5. That's all fine and dandy and you're welcome to that, but I couldn't stand this album and found it be wildly inconsistent at best and terrible at worst.

We just probably differ over this. Doesn't mean there's a definite right or wrong here. You think Alphaville is a 1.5, which is certainly a choice, but that's the score you hear for it.

this band is always so polarizing lol, "this piece of shit album". . . man what did gaigneux do, fuck your mom? Like they are not even that big, it's not like they are making tons of money, and some of the talk is so toxic to be honest.

I wouldn't go that far. Piece of shit is generally a 1.5 or below for me. Or anything by Attila, which is essentially the same ballpark. Everyone's got their own scale though!

attila is really on next level of bad

but also the stranger fruit thread was a dumpster fire. It felt like being on a a7x thread back in the days sans the fact that a7x made millions off and these guys are like the niche of the niche

They've definitely carved out a fanbase, I just don't hear much merit in what they do. If people disagree, fantastic, that's the beauty of music!

These guys are definitely better than Attila but that's a very low bar to clear lol

So wait, is this being bashed because poor cohesion, or because it uses pop elements... since it's not fully a black metal album?

I don't criticize the pop, I'm concerned with how they attempt to do a bunch of things that do not make sense together. Could they potentially work? Yes, but it's not demonstrated here.
